In the Totals Area, you can change the Profit Amount, Margin or Total. When you change any of these values the program will adjust the estimate items where ever the profit can be adjusted. The percentage can fluctuate depending on the profit margins of the estimate items. If you have a lot of fixed priced items on the estimate it may not be able to adjust the Total price to the amount you entered. If you have all fixed priced items, you will not be able to adjust this amount at all. This profit margin percentage is calculated as follows: subtotal divided by profit $. You can choose to edit the Subtotal (or Grand Total) or the Profit Margin or Profit amount of the estimate and each is outlined in the following areas:
